Once finally assembled, the table is graceful, unusual and would do well in an up-scale room that would benefit from a larger-than-usual table with an asian flair.
However, (1) it takes a professional (or a well-practiced amateur) to read the instructions (Chinese poorly translated to English with bad diagrams); (2) The packing materials, that fly-away, white round lighter-than-air, annoying artificial stuff, is STILL in my house after three months--it flew all around the place and never leaves; (3) the black lacquer top is lovely, though I finally decided to buy a glass top for it ($90 + delivery) because I was running over with coasters etc. every times someone put something down on it--it just scratches sooo easily--it is beautiful--but you'd have to put glass (or plexiglass) over it to preserve that beauty.
So, a 5 star item became 3 stars--mostly because I had to shell out so much more money for the glass top to protect it.
