5.0 out of 5 stars Great Item, but buy from IKEA in store if you can!, June 21, 2011

I love my LACK, as evidenced by our four LACK sidetables (in both black and birch for different rooms), 1, soon to be 2 LACK coffee tables, as well as a LACK TV stand. All of them are very functional, sturdy, and extremely simple to put together. A 10-year-old kid should be able to put this table together, and ours have already survived a move with not a bit of evidence (rare for a wood veneer item, and for something in this price range!)

Note to buyers: If you can, buy in stores at half of the price. :) These are $10 in IKEA stores, so that's where we buy ours.

3.0 out of 5 stars Disposable Table, November 13, 2011

I have a few of these little buggers.

They are incredibly simple. The table itself is laminated cardboard stuff, and the legs just screw right in. I suggest a dab of wood glue or some other glue in the holes to keep these sturdy. It won't take long before the laminate starts to fray on the corners, unless you are extremely easy on your stuff.

For eight bucks, which is the actual price I've always paid, these are very nice. If you find yourself moving every six months, you can get a few of these and just set them outside for frugal college kids to grab, basically disposable furniture.

I've even used these to hold a 20 inch tube TV, and never had a problem. They are pretty strong when you think about the cheap materials.

The three stars is due to the price here. I paid less than half at Ikea, but if you have no alternative and need a cheap table, that would really push what I'd pay for it.

2.0 out of 5 stars It's cheap, but isn't that the point?, March 8, 2012

This table works. It's exactly what we were looking for and the right size. It is an inexpensive, low quality piece of furniture that can be used, abused, and discarded. It's light, cheaply made, and probably won't hold up for a really long time. But it gets the job done and we aren't too worried about how long it lasts. So we're happy with it. We are not happy with the price, however. This table is $7.99 on Ikea's website right now. We paid too much.
