Was hestitant on buying furniture online, even though it was cheap. Even $80 is still money. Putting this together was easy and took less than 30 mins. Very nice wood pieces and does not look cheap. The deep brown is rich and very good quality not the type that looks like its just painted or brushed on and does not look like veneer.
Was going to use it to put shoes and stuff but then it looked much better than I thought. This is good enough for entrance way for putting keys and baskets for hats/gloves in winter as well as mail you don't have time to sort. Or I can put this in the kitchen breakfast area w/ bay windows for plants and magazines.
Well worth the money!

I liked this shelf very much - for the first 5 months.... two days ago, the middle -wedge shelf collapsed, dumping my antique books. On investigation, I noticed the frass (very fine, flour-textured droppings) of powderpost beetles, which live as larve in the wood and only crawl out as adult beetles. The screws had all come loose on the middle shelf, and when I pulled on one screw, more powder fell down along with a tiny little critter (now a beetle) that I squashed. Once in your house, they can invest your other furniture, your wood floors, etc. Do they ALWAYS create havoc? Maybe, maybe not...but I don't want to risk it - so I'm throwing the shelf out. The shelf collapsed because the beetle(s) had worked it's way through the screw holes. All the screws were loose in their respective holes, and beneath each hole was a pile of this fine powder.
Unvarnished wood can be treated with various treatments that will protect against these little buggers, but once the wood is...Read more

This unusual little piece of furniture is not just a shelf or a table, but both and its narrow depth lets it fit in tight spots. So now I have a place to dump all the books I am reading and going to read, other things I tinker with go on top. I have a lot of antique furniture and the color and style of this piece fits in well. The classic design gives it beauty and functionabity and it is sturdy, which is important to me because I pile books everywhere. It is easy to assemble with TWO people, but possible to assemble with just yourself, I did it by working from the bottom up, horizontally, (with the unit on its side.)
